Session 15 - False Hydra

The Party makes it to the Tower of Storms are greeted happily by Haseid the Lighthouse Keeper. Kali gives another blessing at the Tower of Storms while Diz and Burr go back to the sunken ship to look around. Diz finds 34 dynamite and Burr finds 19 salted meat rations, 12 preserved fruit rations, and a deck of Kraken cards. Burr decides to leave some of the rations behind for Haseid as his shipment from Leilon is late. Haseid thanks him and lets The Party know that this is the first time the shipment from Leilon has ever been late. Before leaving Kali prays to Stronmaus to protect Haseid if he needs it with a storm.

As they come to Leilon they see a crowd around the Lethander shrine and Merrygold is whipping them up into a frenzy against the Kraken. No one in the town seems to remember Valdi or Grizzelda and believe that Merrygold is the sole member of the Town Counil. Diz and Burr head down the docs and fnd the Barge Bar completely empty. Kali heads out to the islands that were given to the Kraken priest and discovers that they too do not remember Valdi and Grizzelda.

When the Party rejoins each other near the Inn, they are met by Aubrey Silverspun who tries to avoid eye contact with Kali. Suddenly Aubrey is gone and none of The Party remembers what they were doing just moments before or ever talking to Aubrey. They find a disturbed part of the earth on the ground and upon investigation, Diz finds a tooth and recognizes it as that of a false hydra. Diz recalls that they like to burrow under cities and Burr recalls the speakeasy has a grate covering the sewer. When they enter the speakeasy they find a staircase where the caged entrance to the sewers once was.

They travel down and make their way through the sewers until they come to an underground pool of sewage. On the other bank they see a large pile bodies. They quickly realize that the False Hydra’s powers come from its cry and stuff their ears quickly. They find Valdi and Grizzelda. After a fight with the False Hydra, Grizzelda wants to head up immediately and confront Merrygold, but the Party gets her to promise that she will wait until the following morning.
