During the night, Burr has an upsetting dream about the deaths of Kali and Diz at the hands of a Wererat. He wakes up screaming in a sweat. After checking him out and calming him down Diz takes her turn sleeping. He then wakes up Kali for her watch. Right before dawn Kali finds a cow with a bran on the backside: BAK.
After they wake up they discuss what is going on with Burr. It comes out that he was bit and after checking him out, Diz sees that this wound is festering and the skin around is turning. Diz is aware that this is a curse rather than disease and will need to be dealt with by someone in Phandalin. They decide the cow must need to go back to the ranch so they take it along with them as they decide to head to the Ranch before taking Burr to get cured.
After some investigation at the Ranch they discover that the house is infested with Orcs. Burr immediately wants to burn the place down, but Kali points out that they might have a hostage. They decide to attack. During the battle, Diz drinks a growth potion and becomes 10 feet tall. She attempts to clear out the upper floor while the others dispatch those on the ground floor. She is able to convince two of them to give up the fight and flee.
After all of the Orcs have fallen they hear something bellow off in the distance and see the White Dragon flying toward the Farmhouse. Burr and Kali flee into the house and down into the cellar where they find Alfonse “Big Al” Kalazorn tied to a chair. Diz sends the cow off into the field to distract the Dragon and then uses her Wand of Pyrotechnics to set it off toward Conyberry.
After all of the danger has passed Big Al asks if they have seen his cow Petunia and melts into a sobbing puddle when he sees the dragon has devoured her. At first he offers the Party a place to stay for the night but after they accuse him of working with the Orcs he tells them to find other lodgings.
The Party decides to make a guess at where the White Dragon head. The two closest populated places to Cony berry are the Shrine of Shavras and the Woodland Manse. They decide to try the Shrine of Shavras as it is closer to their current location. They take a short rest and head to the Shrine.
When they make it there, Burr sends Sutton Hoo to check it out and they are able to see there are 16 Orcs and 4 Ogres as well as an Orc in the watchtower. They make a plan to distract the Ogres and Orcs while Diz and Cyrpus infiltrate through some of the ruined wall and make it up to the bell tower to ring it and see if can attract the White Dragon their way.
Kali sets the tower on fire and Burr creates the noise of a screaming Orc causing a distraction leaving an opening for Diz and Cyprus to sneak in and get to the top of the tower. As Burr tries to sneak back to keep an eye on Diz, four Orcs see him and attack. As he rushes back towards Kali two of them sink their Great Axes into his back causing him to fall down, unconscious.
Diz and Cyprus ring the bell and then rush back down. The Ogres and Orcs try to climb up and grab her but she and Cyprus are too nimble rushing past them and whistling for her horse. She jumps on the horse and rushes toward Burr and Kali just in time to see the White Dragon burst through the trees. Diz feeds Burr a health potion while Kali whistles for the other two horses. They help Burr onto his and make for the tree line.
From the trees The Party watches the epic battle between the dragon and the band of orcs and ogres that have taken over the shrine:
The White dragon is first to attack and launches herself at the Ogres, biting and clawing at them. The Ogres attack back with their great clubs but only one is able to land a hit. The Ogres from the other side of the shrine run to their comrade’s aid and the Orcs that had scaled to the roof run across and throw their javelins. As two ping off the dragons scales one finds an opening and lodges itself into her side. The White Dragon rears back and away. Two of the ogres try to take this opportunity and hit but miss. The Dragon looks down releases a Cone of cold taking out one of the orcs and flies higher into the sky. As it takes off one ogre is able to hit its flank with a great club. The three ogres and three orcs throw javelins with two making it past the hard scale hide. The dragon turns towards the orcs on the roof killing two and badly injuring a third. The Ogres run to the other side of the shrine to try and hit it with their great clubs while the remaining Orc tries to hit and fails. The Dragon bites off the final orcs head on the roof and flies over to the assembly line of orcs. She claws one, killing it but misses the other. The Ogres run after the dragon. The Orcs put out the fire and turn their attention toward the Dragon. One Orc attempts to smash the dragon but misses. The Dragon releases another cone of cold hitting and killing five of the orcs. The other Orcs run over and throw javelins leaving the dragon with 2 more sticking from her hide. The ogres run over and also throw their final javelins with another 2 hitting their target. The dragon flies to the side of the bell tower, out of sight and the ogres and orcs pursue. The White dragon flies around the tower waiting for their breathe weapon to return while the ogres and orcs give chase, never seeming to be able to get within range. When the dragon feels the cold burn within her, she flies to the south east tower and stands atop it letting out a bellow to attract her prey. The orcs and ogres dash to her. As she unleashes her cold breathe all 4 of the remaining orcs and two of the ogres freeze and fall prone, dead. One final ogre standing uses the last of its strength to hit the dragon with its great club. It whizzes past the dragons head as the last thing the ogre sees is the dragon’s fangs and claws as it is ripped apart.
