Session 7 - The Council of Dragon Riders

The party makes it back to Phandalin and enter the Town Hall to discuss their recent encounter with Ilyana. After hearing what they have to say she attempts to read their minds to see the man who attacked them. Burr allows her to and she informs them that the man is known as Lionis the Deserter. He was thought to be banished to the plane of Fire, one of the four Elemental Planes. She tells them they must come with her. Diz isn't too fond of being told what to do but when Menet, Ilyana's Ancient Gold Dragons blocks the entrance to the Town Hall it doesn't lave her with much. Illyana leads them down to Great Library, the stronghold of the Council of Dragon Riders. Around the table sits the remaining members of the council.

Ilyana the White (High Elf Abjuration Wizard). Her Dragon (Female) is Menet: Siksta Di Charis (Sun of Hope) an Ancient Gold Dragon. Illyana is the Leader of the Council. She is the most prolific Magic Caster of the current age.

Davral Brickshaper (Mountain Dwarf Battle Master Fighter). His dragon (male) is Melborth: Denthanus Onureth Wer Vertichai (Terror Under the Mountain) an Ancient Red Dragon. Davral is best known for driving out an evil black dragon from within the Nether Mountains, paving the way for his fellow dwarves to settle.

Barek Orc Slayer (Human Path of the Berserker Barabarian). His dragon (female) is Eve: Thurirl Ekess Shio (Friend to All) an Ancient Silver Dragon. Barek was a hero during the Great Orc Uprising taking down full battalions on his own.

Kelara Shadowalker (Lightfoot Halfling Mastermind Rogue). Her dragon (female) is Andyss: Wer Jennu Virlym (The Great Thief) an Ancient Green Dragon. Kelara is notorious for being able to get behind enemy lines. Both she and Andyss can move almost as though unseen.

Venfi of the Forest (Forest Gnome Circle of the Stars Druid). Her dragon (male) is Jarvos: Sjach Persvek Wer Svant (Shadow in the Sky) an Ancient Black Dragon. Venfi is a centuries old scholar of the stars. She is in charge of the various hidden Circle of the Star Temples throughout Lantisire. 

The Council discusses what it means for Lionis to back. They believed him to be dead as the Elemental Plane of Fire should have destroyed him as soon as he was banished to it. The Party shows them the list of all the new Dragon Riders as well as the map of the Forest Compound. Ilyana brings them over to a pool at the very far end of the library where letters are floating around in a lazy tornado. She explains that this is how the rest of the land communicates with the council, they send them their requests through pools throughout the Kingdom. She also shows them that the pool can be used for scrying in all areas throughout Lantasire but that there is one area that has become dark and they can no longer see, The Flooded Forest. It was supposed to be nothing more than a lake but according to the map it appears that somehow the Forest has risen back above the water.

After some discussion it is decided that the Party will infiltrate the League of Dragons pretending that they have decided to defect and report back to the Council. Their journey will be a long one, a full month on horseback, as the Forest is in the very south east corner of this island.

Before leaving to rest and prepare for their journey Diz and Kali look around the library. Diz obtains Constellations of Faerun and their meanings. Kali obtains Lionis the Deserter: A History. Burr chooses to use his remaining time flirting with the most notorious Rouge in all the land and somehow Kelara is rather taken with him. 

After resting the Party heads out to go shopping before they set off. Their first stop is one of their favorite shops, The Feather Shop. Burr, Kali, and Diz each give Navin 1000 GP each as an investment in his pen and stationary business. They suggest using magical items and pens with gemstones.

They then head to the Jewelers and Kali buys a Cuff bracelet black with pearl, simple necklace with ruby, and an emerald ring. They are also able to talk to Ranalia. She is excited to discuss their most recent adventures. Kali lets her know that unfortunatelt the doll was not able to witness their most recent battles but she describes them vividly for the girl. Suddenly Ranalia reaches out to Kali and touches her on the temples. Both of their eyes Glow White and Kali begins to feel Ranalias mind reach out to her own. Without warning Diz pulls Kali away seperating their connection. Ranalia looks up at Diz with hurt in her eyes and pulls back ashamedly. Kali tries to explain that what they've seen is too much for a little girl. She explains that she has seen more than they can imagine in both the past, present, and future. The promise to keep each others secrets and part ways. 

Diz decides to buy a fixer upper on a hill on the ourskirt of Phandalin for 600 GP. He goes and talks to Drendar the Carpenter to get him to fix up the walls, floor, and ceiling. Diz requests that he add some secret rooms. He is interested in turning the building into a combination College and wine export business.

Their last stop before heading to the stable is the Shrine of Luck. Kali donates 500 GP to the shrine in exchange for Stromaus (stromlord) and Aerdrie Faenya (bringer of rain and storms) being added to the shrine. Sister Garaele offers Kali scrolls and she buys chaos bolt and clairvoyance.

The enter the stable and are offered 3 types of horses. 

Draft Horse: AC 10, HP 19, Speed of 40 ft

Riding Horse: AC 10, HP: 13, Speed of 60 ft

War Horse: AC 11, HP: 19, Speed of 60 ft

Diz chooses a chestnut riding horse. Burr chooses a dappled riding horse. Kali chooses a sleek black warhorse. They saddle their horses and ride out of town heading toward the most dangerous deserter Lantisire has ever seen.
